Project Karo Kari is a student-based global perspectives project. We aim to spread awareness about honour killings in Pakistan all over the world. Through our informative Instagram page, we have spread awareness about honour killings not only to Pakistanis but also to those living abroad. We gained followers at an exceptional speed, and people were willing to join our cause by completing our online survey, signing our petition, and promoting our posts. Through our website, we aim to reach a wider audience and get people who truly can make a change to notice and collaborate with us.

What is Project Karo Kari?

Project Karo Kari is a IGCSE student created global perspectives project aiming to spread awareness about the grave topic about honour killings. The project focuses on two key areas:

• spreading awareness and education: through our informative instagram page and website we aim to educate the public about how serious the issue of honour killing really is and getting more and more people to support our cause

• donating to foundations working towards prevention: through our successful fundraiser by partnering up with @clubwhiskd a business owned by one of our team members and through donations we received from generous people we were able to donate that money to the Aurat foundation which is actively working towards making a change.

The vision of Project Karo Kari is to create an ware and educated community and to make honour killing not just a crime by law but something socially unacceptable so that we are able to work towards a cultural shift.

• project karo kari aims to grow its social media platforms until it grows big enough to reach powerful personalities that can use our project to make a true change towards stopping honour killings whether its through spreading more awareness , providing more education on the topic or even urging the government to enforce the laws they created against honour killings

• project karo kari is in collaboration with @clubwhiskd a business owned by a member

• this has helped us get our message out to all those who are customers or the business

• through our collaboration we were able to have many people sign our questionnaire , survey and scan the QR code for our instagram which helped our follower count increase by a far

• with our collaboration we were able to conduct a very successful fundraiser by selling the products and all the money made went to the Aurat foundation.

Awareness

One of the most significant impacts of Project Karo Kari has been the growth in awareness about honour killings. through our informative instagram page we got:

• over 100 people to spread awareness on honour killings using our project and we got a notable amount of people to promote our cause on their personal social medias.

• people to donate to our cause and help us donate more funds to the aurat foundation with a true aim and hope to getting closer to make a change and make honour killing something that is socially inacceptable

The project has also donated to one of the most known foundations in Pakistan "the aurat foundation" this was done by:

• Fundraiser: through our successful fundraiser after being in a partnership with @clubwhiskd all the money made was donated to the aurat foundation

• community donations: our followers were willing to donate money to us through easypaisa and all the donations were immediately transferred to the aurat foundation

  
  

Challenges Faced by Project Karo Kari

While Project Karo Kari has achieved remarkable success, it has also faced challenges, including:

• Teamwork: many of our members prefer working solo but through this team project we had to slowly adapt to working together and collaborating which we eventually were able to overcome.

• people not taking us seriously: Many of the answers in our survey and questionnaire were submitted as jokes with people putting in their own options and writing off topic stories as answers
